A man was able to get out of the water after falling through the ice in Lincoln County yesterday.
The man was attempting to rescue his dog at just before noon yesterday on the Wisconsin River in the Town of Rock Falls. A bystander called 911. The incident happened near the County Rd. E bridge.
According to witnesses, the man took a duck boat trying to reach the dog, when he also fell through. Prior to rescue crews getting to the scene, both the man and his dog were able to safely get out of the water.
A Lincoln County Deputy ensured that all were safe and cleared the scene. The Sheriff’s office is advising residents to use caution on ice as temperatures continue to warm.
