There are still a few hours left to try and save the Hodag from elimination.
The Rhinelander mascot is currently representing the state of Wisconsin in a nationwide contest to determining the best high school mascot in the country.
The voting is currently in the regional stage, where the Hodag is trailing several other Midwest contenders. The Hodag is stuck in the second tier, trailing the bunched together top three. They are up against the Centralia Orphans from Illinois, The Winona Winhawks from Minnesota and the Northeast Dubois Flying Jeeps of Indiana.
If the Hodags can make a comeback, bragging rights aren’t the only thing on the line. The six regional finalists will also receive grants based on their final rank in the voting.
The contest is being put on by USA Today, and you can vote until 3:00pm on their website.
