Nicolet College has selected their Student Ambassador for the 2013-2014 school year.
Tony Bellman will take over those duties, which include promoting Nicolet and informing residents of the opportunities the college has for them and their communities.
Bellman, who is currently studying Information Technology, says that enrolling at Nicolet was the best decision he’s made. On being selected he added, “I know first hand how Nicolet can transform lives and I consider it on an honor.
In addition to this new title, he also serves as the student representative on the Nicolet College Board of Trustees and has volunteered regularly to work with the Nicolet College Foundation during scholarship fundraising events.
In nominating Bellman, Foundation Executive director wrote, “Tony is eager to share his story and in many ways he has already been serving as an ambassador for Nicolet without having the formal title.
Bellman plans to continue his education after Nicolet and has already been accepted into the University of Wisconsin-Stout’s Communication and Information Technology bachelor’s degree program. He plans on eventually earning a master’s degree and hopefully coming full circle by teaching at a college.
The Student Ambassador program is a statewide program of the Wisconsin Technical College System. One student from each of the state’s 16 technical colleges is selected for the honor based on high academic achievement, community involvement, leadership, and a commitment to higher education.
As part of his responsibilities, Bellman will represent Nicolet at the state Ambassador Conference this April in Madison.
