Marathon County has a new judge, a face familiar to their court rooms.
Assistant District Attorney LaMont Jacobson was named judge for the Marathon County Circuit Court, Branch 3. Governor Scott Walker made the appointment yesterday, noting Jacobson’s experience.
Jacobson has worked as assistant district attorney in Marathon County for 24 years after serving in Dunn and Vernon Counties. In 2009 he was selected as the Assistant DA of the year by the Wisconsin District Attorneys Association.
Jacobson received praise from the Wausau Chief of Police as well as defense attorney’s who faced him in trials. Defense Attorney Tammy Levit Jones, who wrote in support of Jacobson’s application said, “I have met few attorneys that have impressed me with his level of integrity, ethics, knowledge of the law and pragmatism.
