A Schofield man was recently taken into custody following an investigation by the state Division of Criminal Investigation.
Last Friday special agents from that Department of Justice executed a search warrant at a home on Grand Avenue. As a result of the search, 26 year old Zachary Covella was taken into custody on 2 counts of possession of child pornography.
According to the Criminal Complaint, a computer forensic analyst conducted reviews of some computer media located at the scene, including an iPad, iPhone, an external hard drive and a computer. During a forensic preview of the hard disk drive from the laptop, the analyst located two movie files consistent with child pornography, according to the complaint.
Covella will appear in Marathon County Court for a preliminary hearing on the charges May 8.
