Another day and another grass fire here in the northwoods.
Tomahawk fire crews assisted the property owner last evening in extinguishing the latest fire. The department was called to the hunting land property off of Clover Belt Rd at 6:15.
According to the fire report, the property owner had extinguished most of the fire prior to the department’s arrival. Officials say it was a small grass fire that out of control.
An approximately 25 square foot area in the woods was burned. There were no injuries reported and no damage to buildings on the property. Crews were on the scene for an hour.
The DNR continues to almost daily update their fire danger map. While Lincoln County remains in High Fire Danger along with most of the state, additional counties have been moved into Very High Danger to our immediate south.
