The Governor has made his decision on the next leader of the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office.
Scott Parks has been appointed as the newest Sheriff of Marathon County by Governor Walker. Parks will be a familiar face in the office, as he was serving as Chief Deputy and has been with the county for 33 years.
The new job will begin today following Parks’ swearing ceremony at noon.
Parks will take over an office that has been in the news as of late due to an attack in the jail that left two corrections officers hospitalized. He will replace Randy Hoenisch who retired in March. Parks will fill out the remainder of Hoenisch’s current term which ends in January of 2015.
