The skies at SARA Park will be full of colorful kites tomorrow as part of the first annual Tomahawk Kite Day.
Children ages 6 to 12 will be entering their homemade kites into a contest with prizes available to the best judged kites based on four categories: Originality, Complexity, Size and Beauty. Of course bonus points are available if the homemade kite flies.
Judges include the Honorable Mayor Bob Lee, Jed Buelow of the Tomahawk Leader, Tricia Fox (formerly Park City Credit Union) and Steve Kanaval (Tomahawk Computer).
In addition to the kite flying their will be other family fun, food and free balloon.
The United Methodist Church will be holding their first brat fry of the year during Kite Day as well.
The event put on by The Tomahawk Area Interfaith Volunteers, Inc (TAIV), Kinship of Tomahawk, and the Tomahawk Business Community starts at 10am.
