Members of the planning and development committee in Oneida County will once again exam a helipad in Woodruff.
Included amongst several site visits for the committee today is a visit to Howard Young Medical Center. The committee is considering allowing a helipad, hanger and a 12,000 gallon fuel tank. The Ministry Spirit 2 helicopter is currently housed at the Rhinelander airport.
Earlier this month, the committee put off a decision on allowing the construction. Some residents that live near the proposed site raised issues about the noise created from helicopter take-offs and landings near their homes.
In the site visit this afternoon, committee members will observe several take-offs and landings from various locations at the facility and from neighboring properties.
Following the site visit, the committee will reconvene at the Woodruff Town Hall at 4 for their meeting where they may make a decision on whether to allow construction.
