A week after Superintendent Roger Rindo took a similar position in the Oconomowoc district, he officially spoke in front of the full Tomahawk School Board.
Last Tuesday Rindo accepted the new position and the following day he submitted his resignation here in Tomahawk. He had been with the District here in Tomahawk since 2008.
When it was Rindo’s turn to speak, he said it was a whirlwind week, but he stressed that they still have another month and half continuing to work.
Board president Pete Wurl reiterated prior comments wishing Rindo well. Wurl said on behalf of the board “we’re happy for you but sad for us.” Throughout the meeting, those who spoke, did so in gratitude of the work he has done in the district
In addition to Rindo’s departure, there were other staff departures approved at the meeting. Those include Kelly Leveque who has been High School and Middle School Counselor; Julie Shelly, who is retiring as a paraprofessional after 18 years; and Kelly Raditz who has served this year as a long term sub.
But as staff move on, others do have to fill their shoes. New teachers will include Jessica Shimkus who has been with the district since January as a special education teacher in the high school. Brianna Schield will join the high school science staff, and Alyssa Galvan will become a new 6th grade teacher. Administrators were very excited about all three of these hires.
