11 Jun News

Officers are investigating after a resident reported a stolen laptop. The computer was taken from a vehicle that was parked on West Merrill Avenue overnight.

A 46 year old man will receive a disorderly conduct warning after being accused of a driving incident. The reporting party said the man was following his vehicle, tailgating, honking, yelling and showing his middle finger. In addition to the warning the man was told to leave the reporting party alone.

After some time, an officer finally tracked down the owner of a boat. It was discovered floating on the Wisconsin River with its electronics on. The officer attempted unsuccessfully to contact a Vilas County man using a fishing license found in the boat. It turns out the man had moved to Tomahawk. After some legwork they were able to contact the owner.

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle rollover on highway 51 over the weekend. Officers located the vehicle and discovered it was just a slide-off and not a roll-over. The driver was not injured in the accident.

Early yesterday morning, a resident reported a man urinating on his property and leaving a bicycle behind. The reporting party said the man appeared intoxicated. The officer was unable to locate the man at the time of the call.
