Folks in Rhinelander will be lacing up their walking shoes this evening to help fight cancer.
Rhinelander will be hosting their annual Relay for Life walk to raise money for the American Cancer Society. In its most recent update, the Oneida County fundraisers have taken in more than $6,000. This includes participants from 13 teams.
Tonight’s event begins with the opening ceremony at 6:00pm. The first participants will have the Survivor’s lap, who will be celebrated for their victory over cancer.
Other special laps will include a caregivers lap at 6:45 and a Luminaria lap to remember those who have lost their battle. A Fight Back ceremony is scheduled at 11:30, followed by the closing ceremony at midnight.
The Rhinelander Relay for Life events will be hosted at the Rhinelander High School. A reminder coming up next weekend is the Relay for Life event in Tomahawk.
