MEDFORD, Wis. (AP) — A Taylor County judge won’t reduce bail for the woman accused of trying to kill four of her six children in an incident from earlier this year.
Thirty-seven-year-old Heidi S. Mann of Rib Lake is charged with four counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide. She’s being held on $200,000 bail.
At her initial court appearance yesterday she asked that her bail be lowered. The judge denied the motion but said Mann could renew that request at a later date.
She’s accused of putting her four youngest children in an SUV with her and letting the engine run in a closed garage for two hours. Prosecutors say she was concerned they couldn’t handle her divorce. The children survived without any apparent effects. They’re all under the age of 12.
Mann’s next appearance in court is a pre-trial conference July 19.
