A storm cell passed through the Tomahawk area last evening and its signs were visible this morning.
This was part of a larger storm system that hit much of North Central Wisconsin leaving trees down, brief flooding and hail. Authorities say that a boy near Edgar suffered burns after a lightning strike.
Trees were reported down across homes and a power line in Lincoln county. Some locations received in excess of 2″ of rain, and some storm sewers couldn’t keep up causing brief, localized street flooding.
The storm brought reports of 1/2″ to 1″ sized hail to the area, which the National Weather Service confirmed.
Here in Tomahawk nearly 4,000 people were without power for brief periods, but power has been restored to the area. WPS continued to work in the Wausau area on a few late morning outages.
