The annual Tomahawk Powwow Days celebration got underway earlier this morning.
The opening ceremonies began at 9:00am at SARA Park with the introduction of this year’s Powwow Queen, Katrina Eskola. This will coincide with an all-day Arts and Crafts fair. The evening’s events at SARA Park will end with a special session of BINGO.
New this year will be the Party in the Park, sponsored by the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce. This starts at 4:00 at Veteran’s Memorial Park. Food and beverages will be available, along with activities for the kids and Hand Picked Blue Grass music.
The annual “Old-Timer’s” Kwahamot Ski Show is this evening, where you can come watch the alumni get out on the water again. Then the music of Hand Picked Blue Grass will pick back up after the ski show.
Coming up tomorrow morning the Powwow Days 5k and 10k starts at a new time of 8:30 leaving from memorial park.
The Tomahawk Lions Pow! Wow! Parade will take place at 1:00 PM in Downtown Tomahawk. Due to work on North Fourth Street the parade route will go down Washington Avenue to 5th Street turn on to Somo Avenue to North 4th St. then Wisconsin Avenue.
