A northwoods health care system has joined a collaborative relationship with one from Ohio.
An announcement was made last week that Marshfield Clinic will become the seventh institution to join Cleveland Clinic Innovations. CCI is expected to work with applied sciences to advance diagnostic tools and treatments from physicians, researchers and staff.
The Innovation Alliance will also foster Marshfield Clinic Technology into commercialization.
Marsha Barwick, director of Marshfield Clinic Applied Sciences says of the agreement, “By leveraging CCI’s experience and skill, Marshfield Clinic Applied Sciences will build upon Marshfield Clinic’s years of innovation that’s at the core of what our physicians and researchers do.”
Officials at Marshfield Clinic say collaboration is the next step for their Applied Sciences which formed in 2006.
“For more than 95 years, innovating through research and patient care has been a part of Marshfield Clinic’s core mission,” said Dr. Brian Ewert, Marshfield Clinic president. “Collaborating with Cleveland Clinic ensures we’re continuing to nurture discoveries flowing out of Marshfield Clinic in order to improve patient care.”
