Recent unemployment data from the state continued an up and down trend, and overall most north central counties area improved from one year ago.
The Department of Workforce Development recently released their unemployment data. Statewide the seasonally adjusted rate remained at 6.8%, below the national figure at 7.4%.
The number was helped by improvements in most northwoods counties from June to July. Here in Lincoln County that unemployment rate was down a half percent in July to 8.7%. Last July the rate was at 10.1%.
Vilas, Oneida and Langlade Counties also saw drops of up to 0.9% from June to July. Overall these counties still remain in the upper third in unemployment rates.
