The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the Rhinelander School District have reached a space sharing agreement that they each feel will be beneficial.
The joint agreement between the two will allow the Oneida County Sheriff to utilize office space at Northwood’s Community Elementary School on Highway K.
The satellite office will allow law enforcement to stay on the west side of the county. Sheriff Grady Hartman says, “This community service location will provide an area for deputies to do necessary paperwork and not have to come to the Rhinelander office.”
Both groups also cited the beneficial positive interaction between students and law enforcement officers. New district superintendent Kelli Jacobi says, “This partnership… provides increased opportunities for students to spend time with and observe positive role models. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
