The Local American Legion Post braved the heat last week in order to assist an area veteran.
Five Legionnaires from the Tomahawk area learned that a veteran had lost part of his leg. To return home he needed a ramp into his home.
Led by Gordy Lovsletten, the team engineered and built this ramp. The project was started last Wednesday. The five worked through the week, and had the ramp completed by Saturday morning. Helping Lovsletten were, Ron Jensen, Bill Jelinek, Gary Randall and Gerry Johnson. All five are members of the American Legion, Bronsted-Searl Post 93.
Commander Joe Story said of the men, “They epitomize what The American Legion is about….Veterans helping Veterans.”
