For the second time in just over a week, traffic was detoured on a stretch of Highway 8 near Tomahawk.
Yesterday’s delay was caused when a tanker left the road way. At just before 9:00 am the truck entered the ditch at the Highway 8 and 51 interchange.
The tanker was overturned, half way up the southbound on-ramp to Highway 51. Numerous law enforcement and public safety units responded to the scene.
The truck was carrying an asphalt sealant, and the load was transferred to another truck.
The onramp was closed yesterday afternoon as crews worked to right the overturned tanker.
No further details were given. Officials will continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
