A pair of area women are using a friendly military rivalry to raise money for a good cause.
Mirayra Bell is an Executive Director at Golden Age and also a former member of the Army. Melissa Hermann is the lead RN on the Northwoods Serenity Unit, and a former member of the Air Force.
The two are each raising money for the Alzheimer’s walk this weekend.
They have decided to use their military ties as incentive to raise additional money. They each have separate donation containers on the counters at Golden Age nursing station and are accepting donations through tomorrow.
Of course a good competition wouldn’t be the same without a small wager. The one who raises the most money will get the other to wear their respective Air Force or Army clothes.
The Alzheimer’s walk is coming up on Saturday.
