Officers performed a traffic stop on Southgate Drive that resulted in multiple citations issued to the 27 year old driver. Those include operating after suspension, false registration and a failure to insure the vehicle.
On Monday afternoon the police department received calls about an injured hawk along the side of the Highway near 51 and D. The officer was unable to get close to the bird, but contacted trained personnel from Northwoods Wildlife to assist.
A Tripoli woman came to the police department to pay a seat belt violation. The odor of intoxicants was noted, and the woman said she had come from a nearby establishment. The woman was advised to find a ride home and her vehicle was parked.
Officers performed a traffic stop for minor violations and found a small child in the vehicle that was not in a proper booster seat. The driver received warnings for the violations and an officer stood by until a proper seat could be dropped off.
An officer observed a driver, known to be suspended, traveling through the city. After confirming this, the vehicle was stopped and the driver will be cited for operating after suspension. Probation and Parole was contacted, but they did not want to place a hold.
