A Merrill man was jailed after a gun incident early yesterday morning in Lincoln County.
Deputies investigated the incident at a Town of Merrill home after receiving a 911 call at just after 1. The call indicated that a vehicle with 5 occupants confronted the residents in a garage, looking for another person.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect produced a hand gun, loaded a round into the chamber and held it against the head of one of the victims. After a struggle, the suspects left in a vehicle, but stopped and suspect allegedly fired several rounds.
Merrill Police Officers located the the group at a mid-city tavern. The handgun was recovered along with numerous shell casings. The original suspect, a 31 year old Merrill man, was jailed on charges of reckless endangering safety, burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon, and misdemeanor charges of carrying a handgun where alcohol is served, going armed while intoxicated, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, disorderly conduct and obstructing.
The four other occupants of the vehicle provided false information to the officers investigated the incident leading to all of them being arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing. They included: two Merrill women aged 27 and 26 and two Merrill men aged 32 and 28.
Deputies continue to investigate and additional charges could be added.
