Coming up today, Wisconsin Public Service will be testing siren warning systems in the Tomahawk area. This includes systems at the Jersey Hydroelectric Project on the Tomahawk River.
At 1:00pm, the sirens will sound for approximately 30 seconds at the corners of CC and Jersey Lane and Jersey Lane and Bay Mill Road.
The annual test is required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The system is designed to alert persons in low-lying areas immediately downstream in the event of a failure at the dam.
