The elements have slowed our WJJQ tower construction to a halt for the next few days.
Gregg Albert says that the cold, snow and especially the wind is currently preventing the crews from finishing the final 60 feet of tower. In the erection process members are at the top of the tower which is currently 435 feet off the ground.
At this point, the workers have returned home to Madison for a few days and hope to be back when conditions are forecast to improve later this week.
That means that the deadline for our Tower Topper contest has passed. Gregg joined Jeff in the Morning earlier to draw a winner from all of the prediction entries we received. The winner was Frank Benoy of Tomahawk. He’ll receive the $100 in Chamber Bucks.
