Some Wisconsin Public Service crews will be heading to Michigan to assist in their power restoration efforts.
Nearly 50 employees from North Central and North East Wisconsin will join workers from the Upper Peninsula Power Company in assisting. The crews left for Flint Michigan yesterday afternoon.
Last weekend’s ice storm left residents in Eastern Michigan without power, now approaching a week.
WPS VP of Energy Delivery says, “During these types of extreme outages, utilities from across the United States offer help to those companies that have been seriously affected. Our goal is help them restore power quickly yet safely to those customers affected.”
WPS and UPPCO will leave employees behind to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to its own customers and infrastructure.
