Students in the Northwoods continue to make generous donations to an area emergency shelter facility.
For the third time in recent months a group of elementary age kids did fundraising for the Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing (NATH). This time it was the students at Zion Lutheran School in Rhinelander.
The third through fifth graders organized a bake sale, selling items before and after school. The group’s surpassed their initial fundraising goal of $300 by nearly 50%.
The money is being used at the Frederick Place emergency shelter. It assists individuals in Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida and Vilas Counties. Money goes to cover food, supplies, counseling, staff and other expenses in running the facility.
