A Rhinelander business teacher was one of 20 recipients of an award to those who promote financial literacy.
Overall seven individuals and 13 organizations are recipients of the Wisconsin Financial Literacy Award. The winners are selected by The Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy.
Included in the winners was Patrick Kubeny who teaches Business Education with the Rhinelander School district.
In a statement released about the winners, Governor Scott Walker said, “The need for personal financial literacy has never been greater and these recipients are equipping Wisconsin citizens with an important life skill.
Criteria for judging the more than 50 nominees including innovation, implementation, results, collaboration and a focus on needs-based groups.
The recipients were to be honored at a ceremony at the Capital this week.
