Two people were injured following a two vehicle crash Friday evening on Country Road P in the Town of Pine River. According to the investigation, a vehicle driven by a 31 year old Merrill man was traveling south on Range Line Road when it pulled in front of an eastbound vehicle driven by a 46 year old Bowler man. The Bowler man and his 13 year old passenger were each injured. The teen was treated at the scene. The driver was transported to Ministry Good Sam and will be cited for failure to fasten his safety belt. The driver in the other vehicle was uninjured but will be cited for failure to yield.

A 39 year old Merrill man was arrested Friday night when deputies investigated a vehicle in the ditch on Pier Street. When contacting the driver, the deputy noted the odor of an intoxicant. After a field sobriety test the man was cited for a 1st offense operating while intoxicated.

A 47 year old Tomahawk man was taken into custody early Saturday morning after the rec deputy stopped a snowmobile north of Tomahawk. The deputy observed the sled traveling down the middle of Heafford Road at just before 1am. The deputy noted signs of impairment and following a field sobriety test the operator was taken in for operating a snowmobile under the influence of an intoxicant.

A 24 year old Florida woman was taken into custody Saturday evening. A deputy stopped the vehicle after observing it travel through the 4 way stop in Tomahawk. The deputy noted the odor of an intoxicant and asked the woman to perform a field sobriety test. She was then taken into custody for first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Two Merrill men were arrested on warrants this past week. A patrolling deputy observed a driver known to have a warrant for violating his probation, which was confirmed. The second incident, a deputy responded to a home after learning a 52 year old man violated his probation’s no drink order. A breath test came back positive and he was arrested.

Two people struck deer this past week on Lincoln County Roadway. That includes a deputy in a marked squad car that caused minor damage.
