The Volunteers of Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital, through their fund-raising efforts, recently donated $20,000 to the Saint Mary’s Hospital (SMH) Foundation.
Volunteers provide many services at the Rhinelander medical campus and throughout the community. They operate the hospital’s gift shop and conduct many other fundraisers during the year. All profits support health and wellness programs, and projects in Rhinelander.
This past year, Volunteers’ donations were utilized to purchase a new paging system for the surgery waiting area, assisted with upgrades in the birthing center, and provided six scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each to students pursuing a career in a healthcare.
Volunteers President Dorothy Weiler says, “Every hour that our volunteers donate leads to improvements in our medical services at Ministry Saint Mary’s.” She noted that last year the volunteers provided over 16,000 hours of service.
