A highway in Forest County was closed for several hours after a two vehicle accident that involved a semi yesterday morning.
That crash happened at just after 10am on highway 70 near Divide Road in far northern Forest County. The truck driver was traveling west when he says the small car crossed over the center line. While a direct, head-on collision was avoided, there was impact between the two vehicles.
The car driver was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. No update on his condition was provided. The truck driver was uninjured in the crash. Emergency responders from several nearby cities and counties provided support at the crash scene.
The Department of Transportation says traffic was opened to a single lane about two hours after the crash. The road was re-opened entirely later in the afternoon.
The crash remains under investigation by the state patrol.
