Officers performed a traffic stop on South Tomahawk Avenue Friday. The 30 year old male driver refused sobriety and breath tests. He was taken into custody for operating while intoxicated 2nd offense and transported to the hospital for a blood draw.
A resident contacted police saying the door on her home was struck. Officers used a license plate left behind to track down the owner. He said he had been working over night and his girlfriend denied driving. Officers observed damage to the front of the vehicle. The 32 year old female was taken into custody for a violation of probation’s no drink order. The property owner chose not to pursue charges on the original incident.
Officers came across a vehicle in the ditch on East Somo Avenue and found foot tracks in the mud and a pair of shoes. Contact was made with the owner who explained he attempted to avoid a deer and left the roadway. The report indicated that the individual showed no signs of impairment.
A Tomahawk woman reported ongoing harassment through text message and Facebook which resulted in her changing her phone number. Police are following up with the Stevens Point suspect. At the same time, officers learned the boyfriend of the victim had an active felony warrant. The 23 year old Wisconsin Rapids man was taken into custody.
