A Lac du Flambeau woman was sentenced to probation after a drug conviction in federal court.
Fifty four year old Lois Vetterneck will remain on probation for a year after previously pleading guilty to distributing oxycodone. According to the US Attorney’s office handling the case, Vetterneck and her son sold the drug to informants at their home on three occasions in April of last year.
Her son Brandon pleaded guilty to similar charges and was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison last month.
US District Judge Barbara Crabb noted that Lois Vetterneck received the lighter sentence because she is seeking treatment, has no prior convictions and is a primary caregiver for three young children.
