School districts across the Northwoods are gearing up for the upcoming year, which starts in less than a month.
Some of those districts are still filling vacant positions, including Rhinelander where they have announced Maggie Peterson as the new Director of Special Education and Pupil Services. She comes from the Northland Pines school district where she was a special education teacher, director of pupil services and St. Germain elementary principal.
She is returning home to Rhinelander where she previously graduated.
Meanwhile other teachers in the district are polishing up their computer skills with the 1st Hodag Tech fest. During this 4 day event, we will be encouraging the utilization of many 21st Century technology tools and applications, while we implement School District of Rhinelander initiatives.
Topics include:teacher effectiveness and leadership; collaboration and communication; literacy; and personalized and blended learning.
School starts in most Wisconsin districts September 2.
