The Tomahawk Police Department will join law enforcement agencies across the state in cracking down on drunken driving the next several weeks.
It’s time once again for the annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign.
Both the number of alcohol related fatalities and injuries have dropped the past 10 years according to the Department of Transportation. Tomahawk Sgt. Steve Buckwalter says, “Although we’re making progress, too many people are still being killed or injured because of the irresponsible decision to drive while impaired.
To help in the campaign, the “Zero in Wisconsin” traffic safety initiative is offering a free drive sober mobile app.
The increased enforcement of the state’s drunken driving laws begins today and will run through Labor Day weekend.
