The Tomahawk Public Library is hosting Fines of Food, now through December 17 all fine monies will be donated to the local food pantries.

Tomahawk Fishing Unlimited is holding a Winter Raffle, with the first place prize a Henry Goldenboy .22 rifle.  Tickets are $5.00 each or three for $10.00 and available at WJJQ.

Nicolet College is offer Nursing Assistant classes in Tomahawk starting on February 6 and running through April 19.  To register, call 365-4493.

The annual Breakfast with Santa event in Merrill is from 8:00 to 11:00 AM at the Smith Center.  The cost is just $3.00 per person.

Grace Lutheran Church of Tomahawk is hosting their annual cookie walk, lefse and craft sale.  The homemade craft sale is in Grace’s gathering area beginning at 8:30 AM.  The cookie walk and lefse sale is from 9:30 to 11:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall.

The Town of Skanawan has recycling from 9:00 to Noon at the Skanawan Town Hall.

The 37th annual cookie and candy walk from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at the United Methodist Church of the Pines, corner of Chippewa and Chicago in Minocqua.

Cerny’s Greenhouse will be welcoming Santa for a visit with the kids between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Bring your camera.

The Merrill Optimist will host a movie event at the Cosmo, with a Christmas movie shown at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

The American Legion Post 93 will host Dave Fox and Foxfire at 7:00 PM.  There will be a 50/50 cash raffle for the benefit of Kinship.  Also, bring along personal hygiene items.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will vist River’s Edge from Noon to 2:00 PM.  There is cookie decorating, ornament making, storytime with Santa, and a chance to win a prize.

The Nicolet Live! Community Holiday Concert is at 2:00 PM at Nicolet College Theatre in Rhinelander.  The concert will feature the Nicolet Male Chorus, Nicolet Choraliers, the Hymns and Hyrs and the Lakeland Barbershop Chorus.  Admission is free and non-perishable food and monetary donations for local food pantries will be accepted at the door.

Northland Bible Church, 2810 Olson Road in Tomahawk, will present their Kid’s Klub Christmas program at 6:30 PM. A candlelight reception will follow.

Crews plan to close one southbound lane on US 51, between WIS 47 and Third Avenue, in the town of Woodruff.  The closure is necessary for crews to repair a manhole.  Motorists may encounter some delays during peak travel times.

The Town of Skanawan Board Meeting is at 7:00 PM at the town hall.

The Tomahawk School Board will host their December board meeting at 6:30 in the High School Library.

Krueger Family Funeral Home of Tomahawk invites the community to the candlelight service of remembrance, “Forever Loved” at 6:00 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church.  The clergy of local parishes will lead the service in honor and memory of loved ones with special music by Jan Huseby and the Gaedtkes.

The Rhinelander FBLA / DECA will hosting Jeans for Teens, now through December 22. Community members can donate jeans at Rhinelander High School, James Williams Middle School, Central School, Crescent Elementary, or at Pelican Elementary.

The School District of Rhinelander will hold an Open House for the Fabrication Lab from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Rhinelander High School.  All visitors are encouraged to park in main lot and enter door #30.

Youth in grade third and up are invited to learn about Aerospace while building model rockets through particpation in the 4-H Model Rocket project from 4:00 to 5:00 PM in the lower level meeting room of the Rhinelander District Library.  Call 365-2750 to enroll.

The Lincoln County Snowmobile Council will meet at 7:30 PM at the Lincoln County Forestry Shop in Irma.

The Tomahawk Police Department will hold another “Coffee with a Cop” event. Today they’ll be at What’s Brewin’ on Main Street from 8:00 to 10:00 AM.

Tomahawk Public Library is hosting Play and Learn from 10:00 to 11:30 AM in the library community room.  Bring the little ones for playtime, crafts, music, stories, snacks and fun.

Nicolet College is inviting women interested in careers in information technology to attend the Women IT event from 3:30 to 5:30 PM in the Information Technology Lab on the first floor of the Tamarack Center on Nicolet Campus.

Tomahawk Cub Scout Pack 548 will hold a Den Meeting from 6:00 to 7:00 PM in the Tomahawk Elementary School Cafeteria.

Tomahawk Community Blood Drive will be held from 11:00 to 3:30 PM at Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in the Spruce Room.  To schedule a donation appointment call 800-280-4102.

A Chili for Charity event will be held at Gerhard’s Kitchen and Bath Store, 5852 Forest Loop Road in Rhinelander.  Please join in for some hot chili and help the Rhienlander Food Pantry.

There is open skating at Sara Park Ice Arena from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and River Valley Bank, Tomahawk is sponsoring the open skate.  Admission fees will be covered by River Valley Bank.

Tripoli Log Church will hold a Christmas dinner from 11:00 to 3:00 PM, and dinner will consist of turkey or ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetable, roll and beverage.  Everyone is welcome.

Ingman’s Parkway Pub is holding a fundraiser for the Lincoln County Humane Society and Friends Riding with Friends School Backpack Program beginning at 1:00 PM.  It’s the second annual chili cookoff, with ticket holders enjoying the chili and also judging.  There will also be raffles and door prizes.  The cost of a ticket is $8.00.

Tomahawk Figure Skating Club presents “A Holiday Celebration On Ice” at 6:00 PM.  The Christmas Show features members of the Tomahawk Figure Skating Club with a wide selection of Christmas and holiday songs.  The cost is $5.00 for ages 12 and up or just $4.00 with a non-perishable food item and $3.00 for ages 4-11.

Top Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from alcoholism.  The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking.  There are no dues for AA membership.
