The ice skating rinks at Pride Park in Tomahawk are now open for the season.  The lights are on nightly until 9:00 PM.

The Merrill Police Association is hosting Terry Lee Goffee, known at the best Johnny Cash Tribute Concert, on January 20 at the Merrill High School Auditorium.  Tickets are available by calling 804-4434.

Generations Funeral Home will be offering a support group beginning January 24th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and meeting every Tuesday thereafter for ten weeks.  The group will be facilitated by Karen Jurgens and be held at Generations at 1400 N. Fourth Street in Tomahawk.  You can pre-register by calling 224-3182 or simply come to the first session.

Tomahawk Fishing Unlimited is holding a Winter Raffle, with the first place prize a Henry Goldenboy .22 rifle.  Tickets are $5.00 each or three for $10.00 and available at WJJQ

The City of Tomahawk Public Works Department continues Christmas tree collection.  Please have your tree at curbside for pickup.

The Tomahawk Police Department is hosting Coffee with a Cop from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at Ingman’s Parkway Pub.

The Tomahawk Area Interfaith Volunteers will hold their annual meeting at 11:30 AM at the Tomahawk United Methodist Church.

The Rhinelander District Library Friends of the Library will meet at 1:00 PM.

Hazelhurst Lions Community Blood Drive from 1:30 to 5:00 PM at Hazelhurst Town Hall,9805 Yawkey Street, in Hazelhurst.  To schedule a donation appointment call 1-800-280-4102.

The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6:00 PM at the Lincoln County Service Center in Merrill.

Master Gardeners of the North will host an educational program with local bat conservationist, Joel Knutson at 6:00 PM at the Oneida County Senior Center in Rhinelander.

American Legion Post 93 will hold its monthly meeting at 7:00 PM at the post, 327 West Wisconsin Avenue in Tomahawk.

Breakfast with a Vet will be held at the Wurl-Feind-Ingman VFW Post 2687 in Tomahawk.  Breakfast includes sausage gravy with biscuits, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage links, coffee, juice and a sweat treat.  A free will donation is appreciated.

The Rhinelander District Library is hosting a Crafternoon with master baker Karyn of Karyn’s Kreative Kitchens. Learn a variety of sweet, decorating techniques for this year’s batch of Valentine’s Day cookies. All materials will be provided. Crafternoons are held the third Wednesday of each month at the library at 2:00 PM.

A presentation by Ruth Oppendahl, “I Heart Wisconsin River” will be held at 1:00 PM at the Tomahawk Public Library Community Room.

T.B. Scott Free Library Board of Trustes will meet at 4:00 PM at the Library Meeting Room.

BINGO will be played at the VFW Post 3143, 120 Park Street in Rhinelander, with doors open at 4:30 PM, cards on sale at 5:30 PM, early-bird BINGO at 6:15 PM, and regular BINGO at 7:00 PM.  Prize money ranges from $30.00 per game up to $500.00 for the jackpot game.

Top Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from alcoholism.  The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking.  There are no dues for AA membership.
