Hatchet Athletic Hall Of Fame is hosting a Tailgate Party for Past Hall Of Fame Inductees and guests in the T.H.S. Café’ on Friday night. The reception starts at 5:30 PM with Hall of Fame Members introduced prior to kickoff. Hall Of Fame Members are asked to RSVP to Scott Swenty at 453-2106 x 206 or Coleen at 453-2106 x 203.

High School Study Buddies program will be open from 3:45-5:00 Monday – Thursday each week.  Study Buddies is a place for students to come and get extra help on school assignments or just have a quiet place that they can study and do homework.  This year Study Buddies will be held in the multi media lab Rm 235.   A healthy snack will be provided.  Students do not need to sign up ahead of time to attend.  All students are welcome. If you have any questions contact the THS Office at 453-2106.

Karaoke For Hospice to benefit Ministry Home Care Hospice will be held on Friday Night at the Quality Inn of  Rhinelander. First prize is $100.00 in cash with a $25.00 registration fee.   Tickets in advance just $10.00 available at Ministry Home Care Office at 111 East Davenport Street in Rhinelander or $15.00 at the door.

Tomahawk Historical Society is hosting an evening to meet James and Scott Henderson, co-author of “They Came To Work In The Woods”, the story of the CCC Camp at McCord during the 30′s and 40′s. Tomahawk High School is hosting Homecoming 2016-music theme dress-up day. Float Decorating at Sara Park-4:00-8:00 PM.

Rhinelander High School is hosting Homecoming 2016 with Movie Day.

P.O.P.S. from Prentice High School is hosting their bake and rummage sale from 8:00 to 5:00 PM at the Lion’s Pavilion across from Prentice schools.

The Tomahawk Physical Education Department will host the annual Fun Runs, with 4th grade 9:15-10:00 AM, 2nd grade 10:05-10:55 AM, 3rd grade 11:00-1145 AM, 1st grade 12:40-1:30 PM, Kindergarten 1:35-2:25 PM, and 5th grade 2:30-3:15 PM.  The girls races are first, followed by boys races, with the races by the football field on the track.

The Tomahawk Public Library is hosting Play and Learn from 10:00 to 11:30 AM.  Bring the little ones for playtime, crafts, music, stories, snacks and fun.

City of Tomahawk Finance Committee will hold a special meeting at 3:00 PM to discuss negotiations on the potential purchase of property for Fire Department use. Those discussions are expected to take place in closed session.

Merrill Area Public Schools and the Board of Education are hosting a community conversation from 5:00 to 9:00 PM in the Merrill High School Library.

Lincoln County will be joining other counties across the state in hosting ‘Turnout for Transportation.’ The town hall style meetings are a showing of support for local governments urging for a sustainable road funding solution by the state. The Lincoln County meeting will be held at the service center at 7:00 PM.

The Northwoods Wildlife Center presents a Night for Wildlife at the Minocqua Country Club beginning at 5:30 PM.  Tickets are available at the Northwoods Wildlife Center, 8683 S. Blumenstein Road in Minocqua.

The Lincoln County Highway Department advises that County Highway JJ between Olivotti Lake Road and Shulz Spur Drive in the Town of Merrill will be closed from 7:00 AM Monday, October 3 through 3:00 PM Friday, October 7 for repairs to the railroad crossing.  Detours will be posted.

The Lincoln County Veteran Services Office in Merrill is closed this week.  Also, the Veteran Service office will not have Tomahawk office hours on Tuesday.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from alcoholism.  The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking.  There are no dues for AA membership.
