THS Girls Basketball

            The Tomahawk Hatchet Girls Basketball Team lost to the Westfield Pioneers on Tuesday night, 58-29, in WIAA Regional Quarter Final action.

          The Hatchets and Pioneers were tied 6-6 after the first quarter, with Westfield gaining a 21-11 lead at the half.  The Pioneers built their lead to 50-18 after the third quarter.

          Tomahawk ends the season with a 2-20 record.

THS Boys Basketball

          The Tomahawk Hatchet Boys Basketball Team lost to the Lakeland T-Birds on Tuesday night, 58-37, in WIAA Regional Quarter Final action.

          The Hatchets end their season with a 3-20 record.

THS Boys Hockey

          The Tomahawk Hatchet Boys Hockey Team opened WIAA Regional action on Tuesday night at Northland Pines, with the Eagles defeating Tomahawk 6-2.

          Northland Pines led 4-2 after the first, and 6-2 after the second.  No goals were scored in the third period.

          Tomahawk’s first goals of the game came from Matt Gerber from Kenny Kangas.

          The Hatchets end their 2009-10 season with a 10-12-2.

          The Tomahawk Hatchet Girls Hockey Team lost their WIAA Regional Final game on Thursday night, 12-1 at Eau Claire.

          The Hatchets finish the season at 3-18.

THS Wrestling

The Tomahawk Hatchet Wrestling Team had three wrestlers compete at the 2010 WIAA Individual State Wrestling Championship at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Zach Zehner wins the 130 pound weight class, earning his second straight championship. 

Tomahawk’s Rudy Chagoya finished in third place in the 135 pound weight class and Sam Arnott also represented Tomahawk in the Division Two 119 pound weight class.

THS Boys Swimming

            The Tomahawk Hatchet Boys Swimming Team finished tenth at the 2010 WIAA Sectional Meet at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point on Saturday.

THS Football

            The Tomahawk Hatchet Football Team lost to the Mosinee Indians on Thursday night in the regular season finale at Hatchet Field, 34-7.

          Tomahawk took a 7-0 lead early, when Jacob Jarvensivu hit Kyle Grube on a 43 yard touchdown scoring screen pass.

          Mosinee would then scored five unanswered touchdowns to improved to 5-4 and qualify for the playoffs.

          Tomahawk ends their season with a 2-7 record.

THS Cross Country

           

The Tomahawk Hatchet Girls Cross Country Team finishes the 2009 season with an 11th place finish at the WIAA State Cross Country Championship at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.

The Hatchet Girls raced at state for the eighth consecutive year and were led by Rachel Sudbury’s seventh place finish.  Freshman Stephanie Welke was 82nd, Rachel Miller was 88th, Maxine Gustafson was 110th and Kelsey Renn was 117th.

The Hatchets Boys, 2008 State Champs, finished 12th.  They were led by Sam Arnott’s 34th place finish.  Tyler Bostwick was 45th, Nathan Kainz was 74th, Connor Ahrens was 82nd and Jordan McAllister was 92nd.  It was the Hatchet Boys ninth straight state tournament appearance.

THS Volleyball

           

            The Tomahawk Hatchet Volleyball Team’s 2009 season came to an end at the Resch Center in Green Bay at the WIAA State Volleyball Championships.

          For the first time in school history, Tomahawk competed at the state championships. 

          On Friday afternoon, Tomahawk lost to Waukesha Catholic Memorial 3-0 in a WIAA State Semi-Final match.  Game scores were:  15-25, 15-25, 17-25.  Catholic Memorial would win the Division Two Championship on Saturday.

          The Hatchets end their 2009 season with a 44-5 record.

THS Girls Swimming

           

            The Tomahawk Hatchet Girls Swimming Team was represented at the 2009 WIAA State Swimming Championships on Friday night by Sophomore Marlee Kiander.  Kiander finished tenth in the 100 yard breastroke.

THS Boys & Girls Track & Field

          The Tomahawk Hatchet Boys & Girls Track and Field Teams qualified a record number of events for the WIAA State Track and Field Meet in LaCrosse on Friday and Saturday.

          The lady Hatchet 800 meter relay team of Kellan Flynn, Emily Miller, Anna Sudbury and Brianna Weyers placed fifth in the finals at 1:47.60 to make the podium. 

          Sudbury finished ninth in the triple jump, and Nikolene Miller was 11th in the discus.

          Tomahawk’s girls 400 meter relay team was ninth and their 3200 meter relay team was 15th.

          On the boys side, Andy Murphy was 14th overall in the 110 meter high hurdles, Matt Gerber was 15th in the 100 meter dash and Nick Van Strydonk was 11th in the 3200 meter run.  The Hatchet boys 3200 meter relay team was 13th.

THS Softball

The Tomahawk Hatchet Softball Team lost to the Mosinee Indians on Thursday afternoon in WIAA Regional Semi Final action, 3-1.

The Indians scored all three runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Tomahawk scored their lone run in the top of six on an RBI single from Kendall Nelson.

With the loss, Tomahawk’s 2009 season comes to an end with an 11-13 record.

THS Baseball

The Tomahawk Hatchet Baseball Team lost to Nekoosa 4-2 on Wednesday afternoon in WIAA Regional Final action.

The Hatchets end the regular season with a 13-15 record, and an 8-4 Great Northern Conference record.

THS Golf

          The Tomahawk Hatchet Golf Team finished fifth in the WIAA Regional on Tuesday at the Inshalla Country Club.

          Advancing to the sectional meet are Notre Dame, Oconto Falls, Wittenberg-Birnamwood and Marinette.  The Hatchets were led by Troy Salewske with an 84, Mitch Paulson shot an 85, Ricky Lechleitner an 86 and Dave Twomey an 88.
