THS Boys Track & Field
The
Tomahawk Hatchet Boys Track and Field Team finished third at the Medford Early
Bird Invite on Thursday.
Tomahawk
had second place finishes from Peter Pintens in the
pole vault, Zack Bruesewtiz in the discus, Dylan Dahl
in the 3200 meter run and the Hatchet 3200 meter relay team.
Tomahawk
will compete in the Lakeland Relay Meet on Tuesday at 4:30 pm.
THS Girls Track & Field
The
Tomahawk Hatchet Girls Track and Field Team finished third at the Medford Early
Bird Invite on Thursday at Medford High School.
Same Schade won the discus and Michaela Galganski
won the 300 meter low hurdles.
Tomahawk
will compete in the Lakeland Relay Meet on Tuesday at 4:30 pm.
THS Softball
The
Hatchet Softball Team traveled to Merrill on Thursday for non-conference action
with the Bluejays.
Merrill defeated Tomahawk 9-5.
Kendall
Nelson was 2-4 with a triple, Ashley Berg was 2-3 with 3 RBI and Alex DuPlayee was 1-2 with a double.
Tomahawk
is 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the GNC.
Tomahawk
will travel to Rhinelander on Tuesday, with the first pitch at 4:30 pm.
THS Baseball
The
Hatchet Baseball Team defeated Lakeland on Thursday, 5-2 in Great Northern
Conference action.
Jared
Jarvensivu got the win for Tomahawk, with Jon Nyberg
pitching the final two innings for the save.
Joe Heiner and Aaron Leonard were 2-3, Jarvensivu
was 1-4 with a double and Jordan Roessler was 1-3
with an RBI.
The
Hatchets are 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the Great Northern Conference.
THS Golf
The
Hatchet Golf Team beat Marathon on Tuesday in a nine hole
dual at the Inshalla Country Club.
Joe Hinz was the meet medalist with an even par 35. Alex Tollison shot
a 41, Ole Hanson and Turner Wegener shot 42 and Colton Kammer
shot a 49.
Tomahawk
will host Prentice on Friday at 4:30 pm at Edgewater.
THS Girls Basketball
The
Tomahawk Hatchet Girls Basketball Team traveled to Northland Pines on Tuesday
night for WIAA Regional Quarter Final action.
The Eagle used a 16-0 run in the third quarter, after Tomahawk cut the
lead to eight, to advance in the playoffs.
The
final was 63-38 in favor of Northland Pines, with the Eagles traveling to Fox
Valley Lutheran on Friday night.
Anna
Sudbury led Tomahawk with 18 points and eight rebounds, Jessie Harmon had eight
and Stephanie Welke and Devin Swan each had four.
Tomahawk
ends their 2011-12 season with a 6-17 record.

The
Tomahawk Hatchet Boys Basketball Team lost in WIAA Regional Semi Final play on
Friday night, 53-31 to the third ranked team in Division 3, Little Chute.
Tomahawk

THS Girls Hockey
The Hatchet Girls Hockey Team travel to Northland Pines on Friday
night for WIAA Regional Final Hockey against the Eagles. The Eagles beat Tomahawk 6-4. Kendall Nelson had a hat trick. Kacey Iwen had a goal and an assist and Nicole Nerva had two assists.
Northland Pines outscored Tomahawk 39-19.
Tomahawk
ends their 2011-12 season with a 7-14 record.

THS Boys Hockey
The
Tomahawk Hatchet Boys Hockey Team began tournament play on Tuesday night, at
Lakeland for WIAA Regional Semi Final action.
Lakeland led 2-0 after the first and 2-0 after the second. Tomahawk cut the lead to 2-1, with Lakeland
answering with two unanswered goals.
The
Hatchet goal came from Sam Heim on an assist from AJ Bunce.
Tomahawk
ends their 2011-12 season with a 7-17 record.

THS Wrestling
The
Tomahawk Wrestling Team’s Payton DuPlayee finished
his career with a fourth place finish at the 2012 WIAA State Individual
Wrestling Tournament at the Kohl Center.
Payton
finishes with a 50-3 record.

THS Boys Swimming
Tomahawk Boys
Swimming Team finished ninth at Saturday’s WIAA Sectional Swimming Meet at the
University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.
The Hatchets had 2 individual swims and one relay team
make it on to the blocks for top 8 awards today as Senior Captain, John Lazarz swam his signature 2 events in his last meet as a
Hatchet – he took 6th place overall in the 200 yard Individual
Medley and 7th place in the 100 butterfly for a total of 25 points –
a full quarter of the total Hatchet points today.
Junior, Victor Ierulli,
Sophomore, Aaron Becker, Senior Captain, Alex Tollison,
and John Lazarz swam their 400 freestyle relay 16.19
seconds faster than our fastest time all season to get a 5th place
finish for 28 points. The relay split
turned in by each of the swimmers, at :59.06 – Ierulli,
1:02.45 – Becker; 1:02.63 – Tollison and a phenomenal
:52.83 from Lazarz added up to one of the best 400
free relay times we’ve had in several seasons!
