Suspect will stand trial in murder
Friday, June 6, 2008
A pathologist says a convenience store clerk in
Tomahawk was beaten so brutally she would have died even if she hadn’t been
stabbed three times in the back.
The testimony came at a hearing on Thursday morning
for 18-year-old Derek Domke of Tomahawk, who was ordered to stand trial for first-degree
intentional homicide and armed robbery by Lincoln County Judge Glenn Hartley.
Domke is accused of robbing and killing 25-year-old Rochelle Anderson of Irma last March at Zephyr Fuel gas and convenience store located on North Fourth Street in Tomahawk. According to court records, Domke lived on East Prospect, across the street from Zephyr Fuel. According to the criminal complaint, investigators found Domke’s fingerprints and palm print in Anderson’s blood in the men’s bathroom at the convenience store.
A store manager of Zephyr Fuel testified that
between $400.00 and $500.00 and a computer tower were discovered missing the
day after Anderson’s death. A
pathologist also testified that the victim had defensive wounds on her hands,
and that her head injuries were so severe they were similar to something seen
in a vehicle crash.
Domke is scheduled to enter a plea on Monday, June
23.
