Tomahawk
Police investigating a homicide
Monday, March 24, 2008
A 25-year-old Irma woman has been identified as the
Saturday night victim of murder in Tomahawk.
Rochelle Anderson was apparently working at Zephyr
Fuel at 411 North Fourth Street when she was murdered.
Tomahawk Police report that Rochelle Anderson was
found dead at the convenience store/gasoline station. A 13-year-old teenager told television and newspaper
reporters that she saw a tall, skinny male dressed in black at Zephyr Fuel
around 8:45 pm. She reported that
he was acting suspiciously while she and a friend were in the convenience
store. She then reports that about
one half hour later she saw the same skinny man dressed in a black sweatshirt
with a hood pulled up hop a fence behind the gas station.
Tomahawk Police interviewed the 13 year old on
Saturday night after Rochelle Anderson’s body was found. Tomahawk Police are not confirming the girl’s
information at this time. They
have not released how Rochelle Anderson was murdered or if they have any
suspects. Zephyr Fuel has been
cordoned off with police tape.
A news conference is scheduled for 1:00 pm Monday
afternoon.
Rochelle Anderson was a 2001 graduate of Tomahawk
High School. She was the mother of
one young daughter. Funeral
services are set for Wednesday.
This is the second murder in the city limits of
Tomahawk in the past year. Last
April, Tracy Maurer was found murdered in her apartment. Seth Louis, 25, is charged with
first-degree murder, and is being held on a one half million dollar bond. His trial has been delayed after three
attorneys have quit his case.
