Fire station sale not on Merrill Council Agenda

The city of Merrill will hold their Common Council meeting tonight, but the sale of fire station #2 is not on the agenda.

The plan to close station #2 and consolidate it with #1 has been much talked about recently, but will not be discussed at this meeting.

The only item on the agenda relating to the fire stations is the inclusion of $17,000 in the proposed 2012 capital budget for architectural evaluation of electrical, accessibility and deferred maintenance. The evaluation is needed to determine the cost of modernizing the existing main station.

The council meeting is at 7 tonight in Merrill.
