Hodag Facilities Drewbuilders
Dinner
Thursday, September 29, 2011
More than 100 Rhinelander School
District Supporters, alumni and friends gathered for the Hodag
Facilities Foundation DreamBuilders dinner recently.
The event was held to celebrate the contributions of donors
and review the significant objectives they have set for the months ahead. Board
member Sue Makris said the campaign has raised
$875,000 to date and with additional in kind donations, they are right at their
goal of $950,000.
January kicked off the $1 million comprehensive capital
campaign, Many Hopes. One Dream. to
support major facility renovations at the Rhinelander district. These
improvements are above and beyond those being funded by the referendum. As a
result of the campaign, students will see improvements to the auditorium,
gymnasium, fitness center, pool, digital media center and more.
Many of the contributions from donors were designated for
specific areas of improvement. The foundation is looking toward the future with
a second phase that will address the science labs in the high school.
To describe the effect on the community, Makris
said, "Never in history have so many individuals, businesses and families
stepped up to make huge personal contributions to enhance facilities in our
district."
To cap off the evening, the host of the dinner, the
Rhinelander Cafe and Pub gifted the dinner to the foundation as his
contribution to the campaign.
