Fatal fire in Taylor County

A married couple in Taylor County died in a fire Friday evening.

82 year old Eric Motte was pronounced dead at the scene. A backyard fire spread to a garage and eventually to the house. Investigators say someone was burning garbage when the flames grew out of control. Motte and his 55 year old wife were inside the house and couldn't get out.

Marie Motte was airlifted to a hospital, where she died of her injuries Saturday morning. No foul play is suspected.
