More details are emerging in the Thanksgiving plane crash in central Wisconsin.

Authorities say 24 year old Matthew Zocher was was supposed to land in Merrill Wednesday evening and go out with friends. No one realized he did not land until the following day when he did not come home Thursday.

He was an aviation student at Minnesota State University at Mankato.

According to the FAA and radar records, Zocher's plane flew east from Medford and circled a small airfield outside Athens before disappearing from radar.

In addition to local authorities involved in the search, an Aspirus MedEvac helicopter and a DNR plane fitted with night search technology also looked for the plane.
