City of Tomahawk Common Council meeting
Wednesday, November 30, 2011
The Tomahawk Common Council met last
night and approved two ordinances involving the 2012 city budget. Finance
Committee Chairman Roger Schlegal said that after
many deliberations and many challenges, sacrifices were made by all
departments. He also mentioned initiatives to look at how the government works
as advised by the Financial planner. He thanked all
the city staff, department heads and clerk for all the work they put in making
tough decisions. The Council also approved an ordinance setting the levy
amounts for the tax year, even though it is incomplete. They are still awaiting
a tax credit from the state.
The council approved the parking fees set by the public works
committee at a previous meeting. These fees will be for the parking stalls in
the municipal lot across from City Hall. There are six stalls currently
available. They will be $15 for 7 days or $30 for 30 days. They also approved
the building inspector contract for November 1 of this year until October 31,
2014.
