Northern Wisconsin Economic Summit in
Minocqua

Governor
Scott Walker and members of his cabinet will look to tackle job creation and
the economy when they meet with this week in the northwoods.
Business and community leaders will
meet at the fifth annual Governor's Northern Wisconsin Economic Development
Summit which will be held tomorrow and Wednesday at The Waters of Minocqua.
The summit is the combined work of
several state agencies and is meant to stimulate discussion of key issues
specific to Northern Wisconsin. Some topics include technology, transportation,
clean and renewable energy and natural resources.
Governor Walker says, "Northern
Wisconsin has its own unique set of economic challenges and opportunities. The
summit presents a forum to meet with the business community and leaders to
discuss collaboration at the local and state levels to boost the economy and
job creation.
Following tomorrow's opening session,
there will be several breakout sessions and workshops. Expected to participate
are: the Secretaries of tourism, transportation, revenue, workforce development
and the DNR, as well as the CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Council.
