Win the Window winners

Two lucky Tomahawk residents received early Christmas gifts yesterday, when Tomahawk Main Street announced the winners of the Win the Window Contest.

Ten year old Jack Vanatter's name was drawn as the winner of the children's prizes. Jack will receives many items including games and gift certificates for area businesses.

Laurie Ferge won the adult prize and with it chamber bucks, oil changes, gift baskets and a jacket.

The over $3,000 in combined prizes were donated from area businesses.

The contest was designed to get people to shop locally at the nearly 100 participating businesses, and also introduce people to businesses they may not frequent. Contestants needed to make 12 purchases.

Some businesses decided to allow food donations to the The Salvation Army's Happy Kids Backpack Program rather than making a purchase. Those generous donations totaled nearly 600 gallons of food that will go to help 45 children in need.
