On Friday afternoon at around 2:00 PM
a property owner in the 1300 block of North 4th street reported a vehicle
struck the building. A 55 year old Merrill man was the driver in the vehicle.
The crash only resulted in property damage.
On Saturday an individual reported a vehicle lock out at an
area gas station. The vehicle was running at the time, with a small child
inside. An officer responded, and together with the parent, they were able to
convince the child to get out of the car seat and unlock the vehicle.
On Sunday a woman called saying she was receiving messages
from her son's ex-girlfriend. The ex was calling because her son wouldn't
answer the phone when she tried calling. The woman was concerned because the ex
threatened to call the police and report her son using drugs and driving
without a license. It was discovered the the two had recently broken up. After
a short conversation with the mother, she calmed down.
An individual called saying he returned home to find the
front porch window to his Spirit Avenue residence kicked in. It was also noted
that cash and other items were missing. The medicine cabinet was rifled through
as well. An officer is investigating the break in and theft.
