Authorities arrest three in drug bust

Authorities
in Lincoln County have arrested 3 Merrill residents and placed a 6 year old
child into protective custody.
The arrests were part of a
joint investigation into illegal drug use and distribution. A search warrant
was served at an address in the 400 block of East 6th street in the City of
Merrill.
George Hill, 42, was
arrested on a probation violation and will face felony drug charges yet to be
determined. Melissa Sue Lemke, 26, was arrested on a felony charge of
possession of methamphetamine and meth paraphernalia well as several counts of
bail jumping. Leanna Wells, 30 was arrested for
possession of a schedule 2 narcotic, and possession of meth and paraphernalia.
In addition the Merrill
Police Department is conducting a separate child abuse investigation with the
Lincoln County Department of Social Services placing a 6 year old child into
protective custody.
The three subjects were
booked into the Lincoln County Jail and they are expected to have bond hearings
this afternoon.
Sheriff Jaeger and Chief Seubert noted the efforts to remove harmful drugs from the county continue and more arrests may be made.
