Mother ordered to trial in baby’s death

Friday, September 11, 2009

An Oneida County mother whose baby died of a morphine overdose will stand trial after attempts to reach a plea deal fell through.

Twenty one year old Amanda Bodoh is charged with child neglect resulting in death after her 10 month old daughter was found with large amounts of morphine in her system.

Prosecutors say Bodoh neglected her child by allowing people she knew were abusing drugs, to care for the girl.

Peyton Marie Lonkoski was found dead May 4, a day after her family moved from Iron River, Michigan to an apartment in the Town of Pelican.

Bodoh’s trail is scheduled to begin January 19, 2010.
