Merrill man dies in crash

A Merrill man has died following a vehicle crash in northern Marathon County.

The accident happened yesterday morning on highway K in the town of Maine.

According to Marathon County sheriff deputies, the driver of a Jeep Wrangler lost control after hitting a patch of ice near Kern Drive. The vehicle went into the ditch and partially overturned. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, he was 81 years old.

The victim's name has not been released until his family can be notified.
